This blog is well overdue for an update.
On 7 Feb 2010 I was unlocked and came at the hand of my Master after six months being locked.
I'd gone to South Africa to spend ten days with him. It was an amazing time with loads of horny (and often painful) play.
Over the six months I'd worn the Steelworxx Revenge almost all the time apart from when flying. No problems with the device at all.

Just passed the eight week mark which means this is the longest I've ever been locked.

Being locked in a chastity device by my keyholder (http://www.recon.com/leathersatyr) means three basic things

Five weeks

Today is the end of my five-week lockup by my keyholder.
It's noticeable how being locked goes through a familiar pattern after a while.
The first week or so is the hardest as I get erections during the night and feel horny a lot.

I've now been locked by an online keyholder. The deal is that I stay locked for five weeks (until HIS birthday) and I've done nine days so far.

It's been an interesting few weeks. I've managed to become a keyholder for four new guys, all of them online.
One is a straight man who finds heterosexual mistresses too soft and unwilling to keep him locked. Tip for the self-locked

One of the difficulties of being self-locked is resisting the temptation to unlock.
My solution is to buy a new padlock and use that. This padlock isn't one that I own (because it came with the cb I'd bought) but belongs to the keyholder out there.
So when I look at it, I see something that isn't mine and which I don't control. It is controlled by someone else and I don't have access to it.
Of course for this to work you need to keep this kh's keys well out of sight, preferably well away from where you might have personal time with your cb.
It's a psychological trick but I've found it helps.
Of course if this doesn't work for you then you need to get a real keyholder (I'm available).

Self-locking regime

Discussions with various people have helped me identify what I want out of being locked. I'm not into long-term/permament locking as I top as well as bottom. And there's nothing nicer than a locked guy deep throating my dick or tonguing my arse under a rim seat.
But in between those times I plan to stay locked.
Staying locked means I don't wank away my interest in having sex with other men. And being a sub in a scene is much better when I'm locked as both of us can concentrate on his requirements and not worry about mine.
So unless I'm topping someone I stay locked in my Revenge. The key is kept well out of the way so there's no temptation to unlock. And the Revenge is very comfortable and has no problems.

"Chastity tourists"

Over the period I've been into chastity I've come across many guys online who are looking for a keyholder. And the other day I realised there are two types of guys who want to be locked.
There's those who are seriously into being locked long-term - "career locked guys". They may have their partner as a kh, or another person who they are in an ongoing BDSM or other relationship with.
And then there's those that dabble in it. They like the idea of being locked, and will do it for periods of a few days to a few weeks. But continuous isn't what they want. There are too many sexual distractions for them. Or the kh they have isn't "Mr right" for them. These people (and I include myself) I've come to think of as chastity tourists. Like the friends from out of town or overseas who come visit, they do it as part of a wider range of thrill-creating activities they engage in.
This is not to put down chastity tourists. After all I'm one of them.
But when chatting to potential guys to lock, it may be worthwhile remembering this distinction. That way, when they don't want to relock, or don't keep in touch, you don't feel disappointed. You'll realise that they're tourists, ejoying the rde while it lasts. Maybe to be repeated. But no more a full-time commitment than wanting to spend your life on a cruise ship.

That burning sensation

Wherever you see locked guys discussing their devices you will find some in ball trap devices complaining about a burning sensation under their balls.
Some have attributed this to problems with the metal pivot hinge on their plastic CB devices. But even with solid rings or metal devices like my Steelworxx Revenge this can happen. I also had it with my ChastitySteel device.
After lots of experience of this I think I've narrowed down the problem.
I believe it's caused by the scrotal skin bunching up and coming under pressure. The sensation is similar to having your tits queezed hard.
My solution is to put the skin back in place which solves the problem.
I grip my balls with one hand and then use the other hand to pull the ring back as far as possible. This puts all the extra skin back on the balls side of the ring. You may not feel the ring or the skin move much but it's effective.
Other solutions like putting some lube on the ring I think actually make the problem worse as they make it easier for the skin to slip back.

It's usually the case when remote locking that as a kh you need ongoing evidence that the guy is not just locked but has stayed locked.
So how do you make sure the cb keys are secured so that the locked person can't access them without the keyholder knowing but that they can also be accessed with permission or in an emergency?
One solution is to use a combination padlock or keysafe - the locked guy can email/phone for the combination in an emergency.
However once the locked guy has been given the combination, the cb is never secure until you can physically handle the lock/safe to change the combination.
My solution is to devise a simple keysafe which you can see above.
It's made of just two components: a piece of clear thick polythene tubing and a numbered one-time lock.
The tubing you can buy at a DIY store. A length is cut which is about twice the length of the key. Four slots are cut into the tube, two near each end diametrically opposite. I used a rotary hole punch but you can use a craft knife if you're careful.
I bought a supply of the numbered strips. They have an advantage over the plastic numbered padlocks you get with plastic CBs in that they are very strong and flexible. I find that with any rough handling the plastic padlocks can easily break unintentionally. But even if you bend and twist the plastic strips, the fibreglass threads running through them prevent them being broken. You need scissors to cut through them.
The strip is pushed through one slot, through the small ring attached to the key, then out the other side. Finally it's pulled through both slots at the other end and then snapped shut.
The tube allows you to see the key inside and the numbers are clear for photo/cam evidence. Plus the fact that the strip is wide enough to seal both ends of the tube means that fingers can't get in, nor can you slide the cb padlock inside to attach it to the key.
If you're ostentatious you can even hang it from your keyring.
With one of these the locked guy can prove the keys have not been accessed. And if supplied with a quantity of strips, he can unlock when allowed (eg on cam for edging) and then relock with a fresh strip.

Obvious though it may seem, many locked guys don't realise that they may have to change the clothes they wear when they are locked.
For a start, most devices result in the cock being forced down between the balls. This means the balls are pushed outwards so they sit on either side of your dick rather than underneath it.
This will certainly result in your scrotum skin being stretch a little. It also means your balls will sit closer to your skin, specifically your thighs. There is then the possibility of rubbing or pressure.
So it's certain in my experience that the underwear you may have been wearing will interact differently with your body. It may ride up or bunch up, causing more pressure/friction points.
That closeness of your scrotum to your thighs can also result in more sweat build up.
It's worth thinking about what underwear will work for you (if you want to wear any at all) and experimenting.
Since wearing the Revenge I've changed to some trunks I found at Marks & Spencer. They're in a range called "Climate Control" and they're good at absorbing sweat and are quite stretchy and supportive. Hanes also make trunks which have a pouch which can hold your cb in place. The trunks provide a cushion between my balls and my thighs and the pouch holds the Revenge in place so it doesn't slide down one side of the central seam of my jeans and make a noticeable hard bulge (which may, however, be what you want).
If you're wearing a full waisted cb like a NeoSteel etc then maybe you don't want to wear any underwear at all. But be aware that you can no longer shake those last few drops of piss off the end of your dick. This applies with most cbs. Underwear can allow these last drops to be captured rather than seeping through to your jeans/trousers (unless you want that to happen).
Also, if you're wearing a full chastity belt, the additional thickness around your waist might mean you need a slightly larger waist size on your jeans. And beware of the front lock wearing a hole in the bottom centre of t-shirts etc as happened to me.
I also found that buying jeans, shorts etc with one size up waist means that there's a bit more room in the front for the cb. This helps it sit better and not be pushed against me (specially the balls against my thighs).

Steelworxx Revenge review

Back last year I ordered a Steelworxx Revenge (see above). I tried it on and wore it off and on for a few days. I didn't have a keyholder but I was "practising" to make sure it worked. Then major work demands kept me occupied for a number of months and chastity took a back burner for a while. But it's now come to the front of the line again.
I've been wearing the Revenge for a couple of weeks now and reaslised that it was time to return to my blog.
About the Steelworxx Revenge
Imagine a standard plastic CB, but made to measure and much stronger. Because it's made of steel, the parts are much less bulky. Having worn various devices it was easy to calculate the correct sizes. You need the cock ring size, the tube diameter and tube length.
To avoid any problems with skin reactions I ordered it black powder-coated. Also Steelworxx offers the option of a steel ring edging the top of the tube. This is important as it smooths that edge off. With the Chastity Steel I'd had problems with that edge cutting into the underside of my penis when I got hard. With that additional rounded edge none of this is a problem.
Modifications
I've made, two slight additions to the Revenge. As you can see in the photo above, I've used a thin rubber ring (bought from the local DIY store) to hold the padlock in place to one side. This tucks into an empty space so it doesn't add an extra bulge and stops it moving about and possibly rattling.
Also I needed something to stop my PA piercing rattling around inside. I used a small cable tie, passed through the sides of the end cage and the PA ring and out the other side. This holds the PA ring in place against the edge of the device so it doesn't rattle but not so tight that it puts pressure on the piercing when my penis grows or shrinks. Once it's at the right tightness I clip off the excess so there's no sharp edges.
